\nThis is the Eshima Ohashi bridge in Japan. It\u2019s the third largest rigid-frame bridge in the world at 44 metres tall. And judging by its looks, it would also probably qualify as the world\u2019s scariest too.
\nThe mile-long bridge was built on the banks of Lake Nakaumi , connecting the cities of
\nMatsue and Sakaiminato. If you\u2019re wondering why it looks more like a rollercoaster
\n(or should I say, road-er coaster) than a bridge, it\u2019s because it was designed to be high
\nenough to let ships pass underneath.
\nIt has a gradient of 5.1 percent on the Tottori Prefecture side and 6.1 percent on the
\nShimane Prefecture side, making its slope look like the apex of a rollercoaster.
\nIn addition to wearing a seatbelt, you might want to bring a barf bag when driving
\nalong this road. WOT IF BRAKES FAIL?<\/p>\n
